September 2024 · 5 minute read

Dennis Rader, a.k.a. the BTK Killer, is a monstrous serial killer. His wife is Paula Dietz. She was born on May 5, 1948, and became well-known after the Netflix series Mindhunter, which was inspired by her husband’s life, debuted.

Even though Dietz doesn’t interact with the media much these days, in 2005 her husband’s repeated murder convictions made her a hot topic. She was dubbed the BTK Killer’s wife shortly after her conviction. Well, a lot of people are still interested in learning about her past and current circumstances.

Early Life of Paula Dietz

Paula Dietz grew up in a typical manner like everyone else. In Park City, Kansas, on May 5, 1948, she was born. She will be 74 years old in 2022. Paula had a somewhat pious background having been born into a Christian family.

Dietz began her career as a bookkeeper at a nearby bookstore after growing up there. In addition, she sang in the choir at a nearby Lutheran church, where Denise, her now ex-husband, served as the congregation’s president.

Well, what began as a menial profession ended up being her life’s pivotal moment.

The Exciting Tale Of Dennise Radar And Paula Dietz Union

The marriage of Paula Dietz and Dennise is one of the most frequently discussed subjects. On May 22, 1971, Dietz and Radar tied the knot in a fairly intimate ceremony.

Denise was the congregation president and Paula was in the choir at the local Lutheran church in Kansas City where they first met. A lovely romance gave rise to a horrible ending. After meeting for the first time, the couple quickly became acquaintances before starting a relationship.

Paula Dietz and her ex-husband are parents to two children.
Paula and her ex-husband are parents to two children. On November 30, 1973, she welcomed her first child, a son named Brian Radar, into the world in Manhattan, Kansas, USA. He’s a Kansas State University alum.

In 1978, Kerri Rawson, their second child, was born in Wichita, Kansas, in the United States.

Before her husband Dennis was found guilty of ten murders in 2005, Paula and her husband led a typical American family life.

Paula Dietz’s spouse Dennise was found guilty of ten killings.
By 1991, Dennise had killed ten people since 1974. On January 15, 1974, in Wichita, Kansas, he killed four members of the Otero family as his first crime.

After that, during four years, from 1974 to 1977, he murdered three women: Nancy Fox (December 8, 1977), Shirley Vian Relford (March 17, 1977), and Kathryn Bright (April 4, 1974).

Dietz was unaware of Rader’s crimes, nor were her children.

Even though they were living together as a family, Paula’s children were ignorant of Radar’s transgressions. Indeed, Rader had established a rapport as a devoted father and spouse. In addition, he was well-liked by his neighbors and seen as a decent person.

Paula and Dennise were wed for more than 34 years until they were given an emergency divorce shortly after Dennise’s conviction.

Kerri, Paula’s daughter, added that her family appeared to be like any other American family. Speaking about her father’s wrongdoing, she stated,

Had we suspected that my father had hurt, much alone killed, even ten people, we would have screamed our way out the door and headed straight to the police station. We were going about our daily lives. Because we were a typical American family, we appeared to be one. Then everything turned upside down for us.

Paula Dietz: Is She Alive Still? Now, where is she?

More specifically, Paula is still alive and well. She even read A Serial Killer’s Daughter, her daughter’s book about her husband, who was a serial killer. Paula’s daughter Kerri recently said in a statement that her mother had contacted her to let her know that she had read her book.

Kerri even related what happened to her mother when she read her book. Says she

She claimed that even though she knew what was going to happen as she read it, trauma forced her to put it down occasionally even though she didn’t want to,” Rawson wrote. Paula was pleased with me and only wished she had realized how miserable I was. She benefited from reading my book, and it has also helped my family cope with the pain of the previous 14 years.

Paula is seventy-four years old as of 202. However, not a lot is known regarding Dietz’s location. She appears to have shunned the spotlight and shunned the media altogether.
