Arnon Milchan was born on the 6th December 1944, in Rehovot, Israel, and is a businessman and film producer, known to the world as the founder of the Regency Enterprises, through which he has produced a number of blockbuster films, such as “L.A. Confidential” (1997), “Fight Club” (1999), and “12 Years a Slave” (2013).

Arnon is Jewish and grew up in a working class family; his father owned a small fertilizer company, which Arnon inherited when he was 21 years old, following the premature death of his father. With the help of his brothers, Milchan grew the company into a successful chemical business. When it comes to his education, Arnon meantime earned a degree from the London School of Economics in 1967 – his success was spotted by the Israeli secret intelligence organization, LAKAM, and he was recruited by the organization and served as a member until the mid- ‘80s; his particular objective concerned with support for the was Israel’s nuclear program in terms of material and relevant technology, although his m0dus operandi is not available for public consumption.
Before starting on his own in the film industry of the USA, he served as co-producer on several films, including The Accuser” (1977), before founding his own company Embassy International Pictures N.V. in 1982. Since then, the company has changed names several times until settling with New Regency in 1991.
During his career as a producer, Arnon has signed his name to over 140 films and TV productions, and has received numerous prestigious nominations and awards, including the Academy Award- nomination for films “L.A. Confidential” (1997), and “The Revenant” (2015), and he is the recipient of the BAFTA Film Award for “The Revenant”, and Black Reel Award for the film “12 Years a Slave” (2013).
However, his success as a businessman enabled him to invest in high-profile films, but both parts of Arnon’s business interests have increased his wealth. Some other notable films that added a considerable amount to his net worth include “JFK” (1991), “Natural Born Killers” (1994), “Heat” (1995), “Unfaithful” (2002), “Daredevil” (2003), “Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005), “Street Kings” (2008), “Knight and Day” (2010) and “Birdman” (2015), among many others. Most recently, he is the producer of the biopic about the rock band Queen, entitled “Bohemian Rhapsody”, which will be released in 2018.
Aside from his production company, Arnon is also the owner of the WTA broadcasting rights, and a part owner of TV Channel 10.
At one point in his career, Arnon was the owner of the sportswear line Puma, as well.
Regarding his personal life, Arnon has been married to former South African professional tennis player Amanda Coetzer since 2007. The couple has two children together.
Previously, he was married to model Brigitte Genmaire from 1966 until 1975, with whom he has three children.
